Dabangg 2 generates Rs. 50 crores

The shooting for Dabangg 2 is yet to start and it has already earned Rs. 50 crores in the kitty. The shooting is slated to begin from the early days of March. However, the film has already started to generate revenue for Arbaaz Khan – the producer of the film and brother of Salman Khan.
Star Network is said to have purchased the satellite rights for as many as 11 years. The rights are supposed to be bought for a sum of Rs. 50 cr. If the sources are to be believed, the amount paid of Star Network is the largest ever for a film for its satellite rights.
T-series, the music company has bought the music rights for Rs. 10 crores.
It will be a directorial debut for Arbaaz Khan. The sequel will see the same pair of Sonakshi Sinha and Salman Khan. Dabangg was directed by Abhinav Kashyap. Dabangg was produced with a total budget of Rs. 30 crores and another Rs. 12 crores were set aside for marketing. It seems the sequel will break these records too.
The film is scheduled for Christmas release.
