Indian beauty Kanishtha Dhankhar discarded in Miss World contest


It is shocking news that the Indian beauty Kanishtha Dhankhar got rejected by the jury of the Miss World contest. With this loss, India’s chances of winning the beauty title for six times crashed down. So severe was the loss that, the Miss India title holder would not come even in top 25.
The Mumbai based model beauty has in the past walked ramp for well known designers like Sabyasachi Mukherjee apart from Rohit Bal. Miss Venezuela Lvian Sacros was crowned MissWorld this past Sunday.
It was an extravagant ceremony that was held at the Earls Court situated in London. The 21 year-old Lvian Sacros of Venezuela defeated more than 100 beauties from different corners of the world. This year’s Miss World competition was the 61st overall.
Former model and now a successful actress in the Bollywood industry, Priyanka Chopra, who was the previous Indian who won the Miss World title in 2000.

Miss Venezuela Ivian Sarcos wins the Miss World title


The 21-year old Miss Venezuela Ivian Sarcos has been crowned the Miss World 2011. The beauty pageant took place at the Earls Court ceremony on Sunday evening. There were more than 100 beautiful ladies as her competitors. Ivian Sarcos defeated them all to claim the diamond-shaped throne. This was the 61st Miss World contest held this year – 2011.
Miss Philippines Gwendoline Ruais was declared as the first runner-up while Miss Puerto Rico Amanda Perez came third.
Diversity, an England based street dance troop performed and the function was kicked off. Ivian Sarcos was officially crowned the Miss World by the last year’s Miss World Alexandria Mills.
The Miss Venezuela Ivian Sarcos was chosen by a jury of members that included former beauty queens. The oldest among the four judges was Cindy Breakspeare (1976). The next was Nigeria Agbani Darego, in 2001. Zhang Zilin in 2007 and Kaiane Aldorino (2009) were the other two judges.
