Veena Malik will play the lead role of Silk Smitha, which was
essayed by Vidya Balan in The Dirty Picture, in the Kannada version of the
film. And before long the diplomacy and the question of originality has started
to surface. Veena Malik feels that her character in the Kannada version has
nothing to do with that of Vidya Balan.
In short, Veena has to say that her character is not inspired
by the original act by Vidya. Veena was speaking during a photo shoot where she
claimed that she has not seen Vidyaji’s film (which is rather hard to believe),
The Dirty Picture. That is the reason Veena is putting forth for her
originality in the Kannada film.
But at the same time, Veena did seem a bit diplomatic when
she said that she was planning to see the film. But because she got the offer
of the Canada version she decided not to watch the film as it would cast a
foreign influence on her.
Veena Malik is all set to make her Bollywood debut with the
film Daal Mein Kuch Kaala Hai, while the shooting for Zindagi 50-50
and Mumbai 125 km is currently underway.
