Gadar 2 box office collection: At 65 Sunny Deol Delivering his Biggest Hit

Gadar 2 box office collection might be something that will put the film in one of Sunny Deol's biggest hits list. And if the response keeps going as it is now, the sequel might very well overtake the first film's lifetime earnings.

The film earned Rs. 40 crores on the opening day. And that's a cool 86% of the total occupancy Gadar 2 got. However, the overall occupancy on day one of the film's release was around 60%. This still goes on better than Pathan - Shah Rukh Khan's latest big release. But the credit still goes to Pathan for being the biggest Bollywood opener of all time, hitting a huge Rs. 55 crores on its opening day.

As far as Gadar 2 box office collection is concerned, there's still more to come. The film is expected to close the first week at around Rs. 125 crores. And this being an Independence Day week, the film might touch the Rs. 175 crores mark by the weekend.

Box Office India has some interesting take on Gadar 2's performance. Rajasthan, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Gujrat, and Delhi have single-screen screenings. And still, the numbers are record-breaking. Apart from this, a couple of other states are likely to perform satisfactorily.

Anil Sharma is the director of Gadar 2. Apart from Sunny Deol in the lead, you will see Amisha Patel sharing screen space with the veteran actor. The film's prequel - Gadar - was released back in 2001. And even in those days, it earned a whopping Rs. 130 crores worldwide.
