Gadar 2 box office collection: At 65 Sunny Deol Delivering his Biggest Hit

Gadar 2 box office collection might be something that will put the film in one of Sunny Deol's biggest hits list. And if the response keeps going as it is now, the sequel might very well overtake the first film's lifetime earnings.

The film earned Rs. 40 crores on the opening day. And that's a cool 86% of the total occupancy Gadar 2 got. However, the overall occupancy on day one of the film's release was around 60%. This still goes on better than Pathan - Shah Rukh Khan's latest big release. But the credit still goes to Pathan for being the biggest Bollywood opener of all time, hitting a huge Rs. 55 crores on its opening day.

As far as Gadar 2 box office collection is concerned, there's still more to come. The film is expected to close the first week at around Rs. 125 crores. And this being an Independence Day week, the film might touch the Rs. 175 crores mark by the weekend.

Box Office India has some interesting take on Gadar 2's performance. Rajasthan, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Gujrat, and Delhi have single-screen screenings. And still, the numbers are record-breaking. Apart from this, a couple of other states are likely to perform satisfactorily.

Anil Sharma is the director of Gadar 2. Apart from Sunny Deol in the lead, you will see Amisha Patel sharing screen space with the veteran actor. The film's prequel - Gadar - was released back in 2001. And even in those days, it earned a whopping Rs. 130 crores worldwide.

Sunny Deol’s problem: Established heroines don’t want to work with him

Though Sunny Deol has completed 30 years in Bollywood, life isn’t as cozy as it could have been for a veteran of 30 years in the industry. His problem is that the mainstream heroines do not show interest in working with him. And Sunny was pretty much open speaking about this.

Sunny is cast opposite Urvashi Rautela – a new face in Bollywood. The film, Singh Saab The Great, directed by Anil Sharma, will see Urvashi opposite Sunny. The number game, as a fact of the matter is that Sunny is 57 years old, while Urvashi is just a 19 year old ‘baby’.

However, Sunny has said that he won’t hesitate in working with new faces and newer talents that always keep coming in Bollywood. When he was asked if it was fine for him to romance a girl of 19 years, Sunny said that they were just acting in the film and had nothing to do as a real-life couple.

To further drive his point home, Sunny said that there are many wives who are really too younger than their husbands.

Amisha Patel quits Singh Saheb The Great

Amisha Patel has decided to walk out of Singh Saheb The Great. The film is being made by Anil Sharma. The reason put forward by the Bollywood actress is that the film is having schedules that are impossible to stick to. She feels that the ever-changing schedules are difficult to cope with.

Amisha posted a message on Twitter about her walking away from the film. She said “Gooddmorning guys. Yes, the news is true… I have had to back out of Singh Saheb The Great due to ever-changing schedules. My best wishes to Anil Sharma,” Amisha was cast opposite Sunny Deol in the film.

If the film had materialized, it would have become a reunion of the two stars – Amisha and Sunny who had been cast together in the film Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. Amisha wished the film and the film maker the best of wishes and did not forget to mention that the film goes on to be as big a hit as that of Gadar.

Kristina Akheeva ready for the sequel of Yamla Pagla Deewana

The work for the sequel of Yamla Pagla Deewana is on. The fair-skinned lady, Kristina Akheeva, is all but ready for the film. This is actually her first Bollywood outing and that too with the powerful Deols. However, Kristina Akheeva is not bothered about the film or being a first-timer at all.

Kristina Akheeva has already spent about a year in India. That is why there are no problems for her as far as Hindi is concerned. The only thing she says is that she needs to polish her conversational Hindi. Otherwise, she is quite okay with the national language of India.

As far as the Deol family is concerned, Kristina feels at home with them. She says that the people make her feel like their own family member. She is not however worried about the age difference between herself and Sunny Deol. Kristina is only 25 while the veteran Sunny is 55.

Kristina Akheeva did not forget to mention the film Om Shanti Om, when she was in India in 2007. She got bowled over by the King Khan – Shah Rukh Khan. He was fabulous, she thinks.

Nupur Mehta refuses fixing allegations

The little known Nupur Mehta, who starred opposite Sunny Deol in Jo Bole So Nihal, is the lady who has been accused to be involved in the match fixing scandal,especially the India-Pakistan World Cup Semi final match. No wonder, the actress has refused the allegations and claims to be innocent. The London-based newspaper The Sunday Times had published her picture.

The story from Nupur Mehta is that it was only her picture that was used in the news and that she had nothing to do with the match fixing. She admitted that it was her picture but did not agree to the claims made against her. She in fact has gone on to say that she will be taking a legal action against the newspaper.

The actress said that she didn’t know any of the cricketers involved on a personal level. She further claimed that she neither knew any bookie nor did she attend any match. She said that she was taken aback and finds it confusing to know that her name figured in the controversy in the first place.

Sunny Deol’s son Karan to make debut with Betaab 2

It has been around three decades that Sunny Deol made his debut with Betaab. Now his son, Karan aka Rocky will make his debut with Betaab 2. Yes, his son will star in the sequel to his father’s film. This will mean that, one more star son will now join Bollywood.

Sunny Deol said that his elder son Karan and younger son Rajvir, who is just 16 years old yet, are interested in joining the film industry. Sunny however added that even if he wants both of them to join film industry, they both must be prepared properly to take on. At present it is too early to introduce them, he said.

For training Sunny enrolled Karan into acting school of Rahul Rawail. Rawail is son of famous film director H.S. Rawail and director of Suuny’s debut film Betab. Betab was a block buster film of their time. It was written by Javed Akhtar. Sunny Deol along with Amrita Singh featured in Betaab.

History is repeating itself. Sunny’s son joined Rahul’s training school. Sunny wants to launch Karan in the squeal of Betaab. However first, Sunny Deol wants to complete his remaining assignments before launching any film for his son Karan.

There are many instances in Bollywood when one sibling has come to the rescue of the other. In one such latest example, Sunny Deol has come forward to help his sister Esha Deol. Esha Deol will be seen in the home production titled Tell Me O Khuda. When it comes to one’s own family member, everyone has kept family first and Bollywood has ample examples of the same.

Tell Me O Khuda is Hema Malini’s home production. There is no doubt that the production is aimed at resurrecting Esha’s career as an actress. As a matter of fact, Esha has very few roles to remember as an actress in Bollywood. Dhoom was the film that one remembers most vividly. Kangana Ranaut facing date issue for Tez and I Love NY

These days Kangana Ranaut has her hands full of films. So much so that she has been facing date issues. However, the two prominent films with Kangana now are Ratan Jain’s Tez and Bhushan Kumar’s I Love NY. Kangana is currently shooting for I Love NY. However, it was Ratan Jain who wanted Kangana’s services without delay.

However, Bhushan Kumar did not obligate to Jain’s requests. The shooting of Tez is currently underway in the United Kingdom. As Kumar did not oblige to Jain’s demand, the entire unit has to continue the shooting of the film with Kangana.

Sunny Deol is the other lead actor in I Love NY. Bhushan Kumar is shooting with both Sunny and Kangana. This schedule is likely to continue until June 20. Bhushan defended why he did not want Kangana to go to England. As he is already shooting with another star, (Sunny Deol) letting Kangana go would have cost him as well.

He explained, sending Kananga would mean two days’ of travel to UK. This would mean, the lead actress would not be with the crew for three days on the trot. After the shoot, both Sunny and Kangana head towards IIFA on June 20 itself.

He even said that even he can run short of time if the shooting does not end in the specific time-schedule.
