If you feel free to roam around in short clothes and are thinking
of Ganapati darshan in the same way, stop. Blame it on Poonam Pandey. It
looks as if she is responsible for making this tough rule of not being able to
take Ganapati darshan if you are dressed in shorts or short clothes.
But which Ganapati mandal has come up with the rules? It
is the Azad Nagar Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal and they have banned such
devotees for the past 13 years or so. However, the latest decision that seemed
to be in the offing was powered by the visit of Poonam Pandey the previous
year. The picture shows the starlet taking darshan, in shorts.
But how has the mandal defied ‘short clothes’? According
to them whoever is more than 13 years old and is seen in clothes that are above
the knees are short. So, they will have to first change their clothes before
taking darshan. The mandal has made special arrangements for the same
as well.
No wonder, Poonam Pandey is not happy as far as the decision
the mandal has taken. She does not think that a dress code would help. She
said that the Lord Ganapati would not have made any difference however she
might have gone dressed. Nothing is hidden from Him, she said.
