Director of Dirty Pictures, Milan Luthria has given Vidya Balan the DVDs of Burlesque and Chicago. The reason? Well, he does not want to leave any stone unturned in convincing Vidya, that the role she is playing, that of Silk Smitha, does not mean that it is giving her an image of soft porn.Vidya was skeptical about the film being tagged as a soft porn film. That is why, the director gave her the DVDs to study how there can be examples of strong and tough sexual desires in women as well. Milan wants Vidya to study the roles of Ingrid Bergman.
The director feared that Vidya Balan might misinterpret the ideas he wants to convey through her about Silk Smitha. That is why he wanted to make the role of the character clear. As expected, the move paid off, as Vidya was impressed a lot after watching the film Burlesque.
