Katy Perry goes into record books

The beautiful pop singer Katy Perry has entered the record books. She is the first woman to have five number one singles from the same album which has brought her on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. The last release of the singer, Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F) was the one that brought her in the record books.
It became the fifth single from “Teenage Dream” that went to the top spot. The current spate of success has come close on the heels of California Gurls, Teenage Dream, Firework and E.T.
The record holds special importance for a couple of reasons. The first one is that it has been achieved by a woman. Secondly, it has come only after the great King of Pop Michael Jackson. It was MJ who last recorded such a feat. It was for his album Bad, which included 10 tracks. Michael Jackson had recorded his name in the record books in the season 1987-88.
