Gunday collects Rs 44 crores over the weekend

‘Gunday’ got a mixed response with ups and downs in three days of its release but managed to rake in more than Rs. 40 crores at the box office over the weekend. The BO collection was almost Rs. 44 crores, Rs. 43.93 crores to be specific.

The film – an YRF presentation features Priyanka Chopra and Ranveer Singh in the lead along with Arjun Kapoor. There was around 70% occupancy on the opening day, whereas the film opened in around 2000 screens. On the first day, the film collected Rs. 16.12 crores.

The collection of the film dipped on the second day, Saturday, but still got Rs. 12.63. However, on Sunday, the film got the higher collection with Rs. 15.18 crores. This was due to the mouth publicity and the positive reviews the film got within a couple of days.

Looking at this progress, the film should make progress towards at least Rs. 100 crores. The film has been made with a budget of between Rs. 50 and 55 crores. There isn’t any other film set for release right away. So, that should help Gunday make more business.

Vidya Balan not to become a mother right now

Vidya Balan got married to Siddharth Roy Kapur in December 2012 and the rumors of the actress expecting has started to float already. The media filled with news and rumors of Vidya Balan and her UTV Studios CEO husband starting a family. However, she has stressed firmly that right now, she doesn’t have any plans to be a mother in real life.

She was responding to the queries about her motherhood when she answered in the negative. She was promoting her forthcoming film Shaadi Ke Side Effects. There is no possibility of Vidya and her husband Siddharth becoming parents so soon.

However, she did say that she will certainly one day answer in the affirmative regarding the questions raised about the actress becoming a mother. Her next film Shaadi Ke Side Effects is slated to be released on February 28.

It looks like Salman Khan will finally make it to the IPL (Indian Premier League) as a team owner or co-owner. According to the sources, he is showing a lot of interest in the game and is likely to pick a stake in the tournament. FIR filed against Daisy Shah?

If the reports are to be believed, an FIR has been filed against Bollywood actress Daisy Shah, who recently made her debut. It is also reported that the FIR involves some other names from the industry like popular choreographer Ganesh Acharya as well as director V K Singh.

It is the Bhojpuri actor Satyendra Singh, who has filed the FIR against the Daisy Shah, Ganesh Acharya and the director apart from as many as 18 crew members. All of them were working in a film called Soda, the shooting of which was underway. They are ‘out to kill me’, he alleges.

The FIR was filed in Mainpuri district of Uttar Pradesh. Satyendra Singh was also the president of Rashtrawadi Samajwadi Party, which has now been dissolved. When the choreographer was contacted to know his side of the story, he denied having the knowledge of any such FIR filed against him.

As far as the actress is concerned, she admitted that she had shot one song with Satyendra Singh, but added that she had nothing to do anything regarding the film or the crew.

Sherlyn Chopra accuses director of molestation

Sherlyn Chopra has accused director of her film Rupesh Paul of molestation. Sherlyn has been in the news for her latest film Kamasutra 3D and Rupesh Paul is the director of that film. It isn’t molestation the only charge that Sherlyn has against the director, she has even accused him of not paying her Rs. 7 lakhs.

The actress has even submitted a complaint in writing to the Santacruz police, Mumbai about the matter. According to Sherlyn Chopra, the director hasn’t paid the due amount to the reason that she had refused to favor him sexually.

The police have started their primary investigation in the matter after going through the complaint of the actress.

As far as the director’s side is concerned, he has said that there is no truth in the statement given by the actress and that she is a liar. He further added that she tortured them mentally and was pretty demanding at times. She didn’t behave professionally, Rupesh Paul added.
