That is the rule of the world – someone’s loss is someone
else’ gain. The same happened with Urmila Matondkar and Simone Singh. This has
happened innumerable times in the past and is nothing new, especially in a place
like Bollywood.
Urmila Matondkar had an offer for Ek Hasina Thi a TV show from
Cinevista. So, why the producers had approached the aging Bollywood star is for
the reason that she had earlier played the lead role in a film with the same
title.
However, Urmila wanted to play the lead role once again and
not what the producers wanted her to play. The production house wanted Urmila
to be seen in the role of a mother, to which Urmila wasn’t reportedly ready.
The producers didn’t oblige and so did Urmila Matondkar. Finally,
another face was chosen, that of Simone Singh. Simone had played a crucial role
in a soup Heena, almost 10 years ago. So now, apart from Simone Singh, there
will be other two faces in the show that of Vatsal Seth and Sanjeeda Shaikh.
