Bollywood is still strictly the male domain. The actresses,
who really add all the spice and the masala are still underpaid, according to Priyanka
Chopra. According to her, there is a huge amount of disparity in the
remuneration that the actresses get as against the male actors.
So, it hardly makes a difference if a film is hit and which
actress worked in it. As far as Priyanka Chopra is concerned, she has delivered
hits like Fashion and more recently, Barfi as well as Dostana.
She defended a question and was a bit political when she was
asked about the disparity. She said that one needs to give the credit to the
actors as well. Well, if what Priyanka’s statement means is the difference in
remuneration and actresses are paid less. So, the actors are getting the credit
as well as more bucks, isn’t it?
But she finally did say that she was proud to be a leading
lady in Bollywood!
