Vidya Balan says that the very idea of playing the role of a
female detective in Bobby
Jasoos was pretty exciting for her. Vidya has played various characters
in her films before, but being a female detective was something different for
her. She plays this role in the film Bobby Jasoos.
Reports say that Vidya didn’t take much time to give a nod to
accepting the film. Before that she was doing the film Shaadi Ke Side Effects with
Farhan Akhtar. As far as Bobby Jasoos is concerned, it is produced by another Bollywood
actress Dia Mirza along with Sahil Sangha and is directed by Samar Shaikh, for
whom it is a directorial debut.
Speaking about her role, Vidya said that she never imagined
anyone making a film on a female detective. Even Vidya admitted that she took
so less time to agree to do a film, which generally she doesn’t.
Spy films, both in Hollywood and Bollywood are mainly male
dominated and the presence of a lady in the story is only as a subordinate or
to add some glamour to it. But Vidya Balan may just change that.
