Barfi gets seven nominations for Global Indian Music Academy awards

Barfi has been nominated in as many as seven categories Global Indian Music Academy awards. With this Barfi is leading the race of the nominations. The awards have been seen as an effort on the part of Wizcraft International Entertainment for recognizing Indian music.

The other films nominated in the sequence are Talaash, Cocktail, Student of the Year, Ishaqzaade and Jab Tak Hai Jaan. The music director Pritam alone has six nominations. This includes best music arranger and programmer part from best background score.

The composer team of Vishal Dadlani and Shekhar Ravjiani, who were the judges in the recently concluded Indian Idol Junior reality singing competiton has found four nominations. Another judge on the show Shreya Ghoshal has also four nominations – three for duets and one as a playback singer.

The Dirty Picture bags awards at the 18th Screen Awards

The Dirty Picture ruled at the Screen Awards, 2012. The film won the awards for various categories. The Best Film award was anyone's guess. Milan Luthria won The Best Director award. But no marks for guessing - Vidya Balan won The Best Actress award hands down. The bold and voluptuous performance by the smoking hot Vidya looked to be the only choice before the jury.

The Best Actor award went to Ranbir Kapoor for his character in Rockstar. Saif Ali Khan got the Best Supporting Actor award as a role he played in Aarakshan. Adity Rao Hydari was awarded with the Best Supporting Actress award for her depiction in the film Ye Saali Zindagi.

The Best Actor award for a negative role was given to Prashant Narayan for his role in Murder 2. Priyanka Chopra was the obvious choice for Best Actress award in the negative role in 7 Khoon Maaf.

A R Rehman got the award for the Best Music Director for Rockstar. Mohit Chauhan and Shreya Ghoshal won the Best Male Singer and Best Female Singer awards for the song Phir se ud chala and Ooh la la respectively.

Singer legend Asha Bhosale was honored with the lifetime achievement award on the occasion.

Shreya Ghoshal campaigns against the use of tobacco

Shreya Ghoshal the beautiful singer of Bollywood is on a campaign to generate awareness amongst the people for bad effects of tobacco on health. The singing sensation Shreya Ghoshal said that recently when visited the cancer institute, there she met a lot of kids as well as adults who were fighting cancer.

She said that she was inspired a lot with the will power of the people who were admitted in institute. Sherya said that she was also disturbed a lot when she was told that in rural area the number of kids, children and women who are consuming gutkha and beedi is huge.

The singer also suggested that the government should take strong action and carry out more and more anti-tobacco companion as the children and adults are not aware of the damage they are inflicting upon themselves by using tobacco.  Shreya added that Bollywood and Kollywood can also help in spreading the awareness.

Vidya Balan to give live performance for Dirty Picture music launch

Many of us might have seen how Vidya Balan has set the screens on fire with Dirty Picture and the various promos involved in it. It is enough to give a glimpse of what might be behind those trailers. As if it was not enough, Vidya will come hard on promoting the film.

She will be performing on the Ooh la la song. The Inorbit Mall situated in Malad will host this programme. The other stars of the film Emraan Hashmi, Tusshar Kapoor along with Naseeruddin Shah are also expected to give their performances during the programme. Other than these stars who will be seen in the film, there are those from behind the screen too.

Music director Bappi Lahiri and the beautiful Shreya Ghoshal will not only attend the music launch, but also perform as well. The film that is based on the real life of the southern sex bomb Silk Smitha is scheduled to be released on December 2.
