The Nawab of Pataudi and the youngest cricket captain of India, Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi passed away yesterday – Thursday, September 22. He was 70. He is survived by his wife, the beautiful yesteryear actress Sharmila Tagore, his son Saif Ali Khan and daughters Soha Ali khan and Saba Ali khan.Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi was not feeling well for many days now. He was fighting the interstitial lung disease. This worsened since Wednesday. He could hardly recover from this. His situation started deteriorating since.
Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi was one of the finest cricketers of his times. He was given the most difficult job of captaining the side when India was not doing too well on the international circuit.
Indian Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has condemned the death of Pataudi, who was also known as Tiger Pataudi. Sachin Tendulkar also sent his condolence message to the Khan family.
