Barfi has been nominated in as many as seven categories Global
Indian Music Academy awards. With this Barfi is leading the race of the
nominations. The awards have been seen as an effort on the part of Wizcraft
International Entertainment for recognizing Indian music.
The other films nominated in the sequence are Talaash,
Cocktail, Student of the Year, Ishaqzaade and Jab Tak Hai Jaan. The music
director Pritam alone has six nominations. This includes best music arranger
and programmer part from best background score.
The composer team of Vishal Dadlani and Shekhar Ravjiani, who
were the judges in the recently concluded Indian Idol Junior reality singing
competiton has found four nominations. Another judge on the show Shreya Ghoshal
has also four nominations – three for duets and one as a playback singer.
