Priyanka Chopra is planning to dance to the tunes of Bhangra if the film Barfi makes it to the finals of the Oscars. `If we manage to reach Oscars, I will surely do the Bhangra at the Kodak theatre’. Barfi is the official entry for the Academy Awards from India.

The chirpy Priyanka Chopra was quite confident that there will be the best result for her and the entire unit of the film. There is one reason for Priyanka Chopra to sound so confident. Ranbir Kapoor is too pricy to sign a chocolate brand

Post the success of Bodyguard and Ek Tha Tiger, Salman Khan got pricy. Ranbir Kapoor has followed suit after the success of Barfi. He was to be signed for a chocolate brand. However, he demanded a whopping sum of Rs. 20 crores for the same. It was a humongous sum that made the manufacturers think for the second time.

It was actually a sour experience for the firm who were looking to sign Ranbir Kapoor. They were hopeful that they would be able to sign the star. However, when they heard the price Ranbir was demanding, they were crestfallen. They hadn’t left with any choice at all. Almost reluctantly, they had to let go the Bollywood hero.

There is hardly any doubt that the popularity of Ranbir Kapoor is on the rise. After the success of Barfi, he scaled new heights. That is the reason the firm wanted to have him as the face of their products.

The story does not end here. According to Ranbir Kapoor, he had never been approached to have a deal. A source tells that there are many brand owners who want to sign Ranbir up. However, a deal never fail due to the monitory issues.

It is but natural for the stars to hike their fees after success. Priyanka Chopra and Barfi are no excuse either. Priyanka has reported charged as much as Rs. 1 cores for walking the ramp of a fashion show in Delhi. A fashion show kicks off the next week in the city.

As a matter of fact, Priyanka is the brand ambassador of the show. So, it was pretty much natural for them to approach PC first. However, hearing her demand, it was evident that there would be no further progress with the deal. The designer could not afford such a huge amount to pay to Piggy Chops.

Such celebrities are generally paid around Rs. 30 lakhs for such shows. A whooping amount that is more than three times high was not going to do any good to the show. The organizers had to look for a different celebrity then.

However, a source close to Priyanka has said that the actress was going to leave for Los Angles in a couple of days. So there was no way she would walk the ramp.

Barfi might not have a sequel at all

These are the days of sequel. Even the sequel of Mr. India is likely to crop up next year. Barfi however, looks to be an exception to the rule it seems. Anurag Basu might never consider making a sequel to Barfi. However, the character depicted by Ranbir Kapoor might not die so soon.

According to a source, Anurag Basu has decided against the sequel to Barfi. He is in fact against the idea. It looks like Mr. Basu has some other plans instead. He is thinking of keeping the character alive in the print format. He has even kept the option of the small screen open to him.

A TV series in the animation form cannot be overruled. He has said that there will be more to Barfi than just the film. But, what exactly it will be, that is still not known. However, he said that the producers are free to do the sequel if they wish in the same way as the Bhatts did the sequel to Murder.

The south sensation, Ileana D’Cruz will kick start her career in Bollywood with the film Barfi, by Anurag Basu. But at the moment, she has gone back to her backyard in Hyderabad, where she will be working in the Telugu venture Devudu Chesina Manushulu by Jagannadh Puri. She has been cast opposite Ravi Teja.
