Dabangg 2 earns Rs. 21 crores on the opening day

The sequel to the 2010 hit Dabangg, Dabangg 2 has proved to be the highest grosser for the opening day. The film has earned the highest amount – Rs. 21.10 crores to be exact. However, the reason is that it has got more screens than Dabangg should also be mentioned. Dabangg 2 was released across 2500 screens as against 1800 screens for its prequel.

Though it got more screens, it should be taken into account that the film has been released on a working day – a non-holiday, as they call it. As usual Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha are in the lead. The film is directed by Arbaaz Khan, who is already an actor and a producer.

As far as Dabangg is concerned, it had earned Rs. 14.5 crores on its first day. Dabangg 2 crossed the mark set by Akshay Kumar starrer Rowdy Rathore. The film had grossed Rs. 15 crores. Both Rowdy Rathore and Dabangg 2 were released on non-holiday.

Experts in the field feel that this film too will cross the Rs. 100-crore mark.

Kareena Kapoor grateful to Malaika Arora Khan for Fevicol Se

Dabangg 2 has an item song Fevicol Se choreographed on Kareena Kapoor, the way much like Malaika Arora Khan sizzled for Munni Badnaam Hui. There is hardly any doubt that Kareena Kapoor is the queen of the box office for quite some time now. However, she too needed some help from Kareena Kapoor.

As a matter of fact, though the song is pictured on Kareena Kapoor and not on Malaika Arora Khan, Kareena has some reasons to thank the Munni. Bebo said that the song has been choreographed by Farah Khan. But the special tadaka that came in the song is due to Malaika, one of Kareena’s closest friends in Bollywood.

Kareena said that it was Malaika Arora Khan who was in the driver’s seat when it came to the song. The costumes, the props used in the song and many other things should be credited to Malaika Arora Khan.

The item song Fevicol Se will be the first one for Kareena Kapoor after marrying Saif Ali Khan.

Abhinav Kashyap and Arbaaz Khan patch up at Sunil Bohra’s party

The long-lasting silent war between director Abhinav Kashyap and Arbaaz Khan finally came to an end at the producer Sunil Bohra’s party. It was something usual for the guests and onlookers present there. However, it is true that the two warring pillars of Dabangg have finally forgotten the difference.

Abhinav Kashyap had refused to direct the sequel to Dabangg and things started falling out ever since. The party that took place on Monday night proved to be an occasion of patching up for the two parties. The two of them spent as many as three hours with each other and talked and talked and talked.

Abhinav Kashyap arrived at the party quite early and Arbaaz Khan, who showed up literally after midnight, greeted and hugged. It was something unique for the other guests to see as they were shocked to see what they were seeing. And it was certainly difficult to believe what they were watching.

No wonder, Abhinav Kashyap was eager to know how the Khan brothers were working on the film and Arbaaz was kind enough to reveal the details.

Well, it’s certainly a good sight to see that the two estranged professional have finally come together.

Kareena Kapoor to do an item number in Dabangg 2

When there are all the news pouring in about Kareena Kapoor’s marriage, here is one about Dabangg 2. Some days back, we had reported about the possibility of Kareena Kapoor doing an item number in the sequel to Dabangg. However, it was really not confirmed then. However, it may materialize this time around.

As a matter of fact, in less than 10 days from her marriage, Kareena Kapoor will be shaking a leg for Dabangg 2. Bebo will have a much crunched schedule after her marriage. Dabangg 2 is scheduled for December 2012 release – just a couple of months from now. That is why Salman Khan wants Kareena to shoot the song.

This means, Kareena will have to do the juggling act between her professional and personal life. It would be indeed difficult to say no to Salman even if she is busy with her marriage preparations. Marriage will hardly make any difference to her life, at least during the initial stages.

In the meantime, there are lots of speculations being done about her marriage with Saif Ali Khan. Kareena performing post marriage will indeed be the talk of the town and the item song is certain to become a hit.

Salman Khan to be projected as larger than life in Dabangg 2

The larger than life image of Salman Khan is going to accompany him in Dabangg 2 as well. For once, it will not be exaggeration to say that the image will remain with him for the rest of his life. His brother Arbaaz Khan also said that his heroism will stay with him and that is what the audience expects.

Speaking about Dabangg 2, Arbaaz said that the audience should expect in Dabangg 2 what they had seen in Dabangg. As a matter of fact, the film itself is no less in itself. The trait and the peculiarity of Chulbul Pandey will be there to be seen once again in the sequel.

The work of the sequel in itself was a challenge due to the benchmarks Dabangg has set upfront. Writing the script is a brave task for the writers. The way Salman Khan’s character has developed from the film Wanted, the same has remained the tune for the success of Salman Khan films.

The shooting of Dabangg 2 is currently underway in Kanpur. The production team is working very carefully to see to it that the magic created by Dabangg remains intact in the sequel too.

Dabangg 2 starts shooting this week

The shooting for the sequel of the super hit film Dabangg will start in the this week. Most of the scenes will be shot in the capital of Uttar Pradesh and some others will be shot at Kanpur. Dabangg was an action comedy and one of the super hit films Salman Khan delivered of late.

The Arbaaz Khan Productions had to get the permission from the state government and after the formalities were complete, the path for the shooting has got cleared. Film Bandhu which is a governmental body in the state to oversee the development of the films has also got a letter.

The shooting will be held from September 9 to September 14. The film unit will try to exploit the conditions of the city which has a perfect blend of the contemporary design as well as the Mughal-Nawab era.

City Montessori School, the Mirza Mandi and the lanes of Qaiserbagh Baradari are some of the locations where the shooting will take place.

Sonakshi Sinha won’t don a bikini on screen

We had recently reported to you about Parineeti Chopra not minding wearing a bikini on screen. Now we are reporting the opposite about Sonakshi Sinha. Sonakshi has said that there is no place for bikini for her on screen. She said that “I am not that kind of a person” about wearing a bikini.

Sonakshi said that there has been a certain system in the way she has been brought up. She even said that there were certain restrictions that she had to follow. And there is no reason why she should change that way.

She further said that she has been accepted by the audience where she was fully dressed. Then why is the reason for her to resort to wearing a bikini or similar clothes? She will be mostly seen in the conventional outfits in most of her forthcoming films.

Some of the films like Rowdy Rathore, Once Upon a Time Again, Joker, and Dabangg 2 are in the pipeline for Sonakshi Sinha.

What’s wrong with ‘item song’? Let’s ask Kareena Kapoor

When the entire Bollywood is sweating it out to compose trendy item songs, Kareena Kapoor is on the other side of the fence. She says that she does not at all like the term 'item song' to be used. In fact, even these songs are like any other song in the film and so should not be seen any differently, Bebo feels.

“I hate the word ‘item song’” Kareena said. She further said that directors have got used to saying, common let’s have an item song. Her problem is that the item song should also be referred to only as a song. Kareena has herself dished out many hit dance numbers. So a lot is expected of her if she happens to accept the item song, err… song from Dabangg 2.

Kareena also didn’t forget to point out that she hasn't yet given a nod to the item song in Dabangg 2 as the reports have been speculating. According to the reports, Dabangg 2 will have two item songs – one will be for Malaika Arora Khan, while the second one will be for Kareena Kapoor.

Another item song for Malaika in Dabangg 2

Malaika Arora Khan who is now proudly known as the Munni of items songs is likely get another such number in Dabangg 2. News reports are also doing the rounds that Kareena Kapoor is likely to get to perform on a item song. This means there will be two item numbers – one for Malaika Arora Khan and one for Bebo. Salman Khan is also going to be a part of the song in which his sister-in-law Malaika will be seen.
If the reports are to be believed, then the words of the song will feature the name of the character played by Salman Khan – Chulbul Pandy. Pandeyji Maare Seeti is what the song will be. As far as the other item song is concerned, we have to keep our fingers crossed.

Dabangg 2 generates Rs. 50 crores

The shooting for Dabangg 2 is yet to start and it has already earned Rs. 50 crores in the kitty. The shooting is slated to begin from the early days of March. However, the film has already started to generate revenue for Arbaaz Khan – the producer of the film and brother of Salman Khan.

Star Network is said to have purchased the satellite rights for as many as 11 years. The rights are supposed to be bought for a sum of Rs. 50 cr. If the sources are to be believed, the amount paid of Star Network is the largest ever for a film for its satellite rights.

T-series, the music company has bought the music rights for Rs. 10 crores.

It will be a directorial debut for Arbaaz Khan. The sequel will see the same pair of Sonakshi Sinha and Salman Khan. Dabangg was directed by Abhinav Kashyap. Dabangg was produced with a total budget of Rs. 30 crores and another Rs. 12 crores were set aside for marketing. It seems the sequel will break these records too.

The film is scheduled for Christmas release.

Kareena Kapoor to be cast in item song for Dabangg 2

It is being speculated that the bold and beautiful Kareena Kapoor will set the screens on fire with her sizzling performance for an item number in Dabangg 2. In Dabangg, it was Malaika Arora Khan who literally made the young generation crazy with her ‘Munni badnaam hui’ item song. It is now the turn of Kareena Kapoor to do a Munni.

Kareena Kapoor has been known for her excellent dance sequences and she is an acclaimed dancer herself. She has shown her dancing abilities through various songs through the films she has acted in. However, saying yes to an item song that has such a huge popularity graph is no child’s play. Kareena will have to give her best, as there will naturally be comparison between Malaika Arora Khan and Kareena Kapoor.

Bodyguard, Ek Mai Aur Ekk Tu and Jab We Met are some of the films which were hits and has seen Kareena be an important part of all of them. Who will forget the item song from Farhan Akhtar’s film Don?

Though Kareena has a good history of delivering hit numbers, the sequel to Dabangg will be a different ballgame altogether.

Sonakshi Sinha quits Race 2 for Dabangg 2

Sonakshi Sinha had literally no option but to quit the race for Race 2 and go back for Dabangg 2 with the Khans. One call from Arbaaz Khan and Sonakshi had no choice but to go back where she started her Bollywood career. Sonakshi had already given her dates for Race 2.

But now Sonakshi would be doing the sequel of the film that made her a household name almost overnight. As a matter, Arbaaz Khan, who is the producer of Dabangg 2 believes that someone preferring to move out of the Khan clan are doing Abhinav Kashyap’s next film.

Arbaaz Khan has made up his mind when it comes to the cast of Dabangg 2. There is no doubt that he wants Sonakshi in the sequel as well. this has now gone on to become a prestige point for him.

In the meantime Abhinav Kashyap is also preparing for his next film. Abhinav Kashyap had unceremonious fallout with the Khan brothers. However, as far as Sonakshi is concerned, it is a very difficult time for her. Abbas and Mustan have very close relations with Shatrughan and Poonam Sinha – Sonakshi’s parents.

Sonakshi has cancelled all her engagements and has decided to devote her time to the shooting of the Dabangg sequel that goes on the floors from March 2012 onwards.

The first draft of Dabangg 2 is ready

The work for the script of Dabangg 2 is on its way. The first draft is finished already. Producer Arbaaz Khan has given this latest information about the developments of the film. There is a lot of hype around the sequel to Dabangg. Dabangg created and broke records at the box office, when it released last year.

The work on the film is on. They are now all waiting for the dates of Salman Khan. Once the dates and other technical things are finalized, the shooting for the film will start. However, it is easier said than done. The shooting of the film will not start for approximately another year.

According to Arbaaz Khan, the actual shooting will start only in mid-September in 2012 – exactly a year later. However, Arbaaz is rather nervous about making the sequel to Dabangg. He admitted that there would certainly be higher expectations after the success of Dabangg. However, he is up for the task.

The film Dabangg was one of the many hits dished out by Salman Khan. It earned around Rs. 145 crores. Sonakshi Sinha is considered to be the find of Dabangg.

Is Salman Khan scripting Dabangg 2?

It seems that the formula for a hit has finally been found. We are talking about Salman Khan and Dabangg. What Salman did in Dabangg was certainly mind-blowing and out of the world. There was a perfect ingredient and all the masala for a great dish. Now the same is being implemented in his next film Bodyguard.

The trailers of Bodyguard that are playing now show some kind of similarity between the original Malayalam movie and the ones those are being played. However, a closer look will show that all is not a photo stat copy of the original. In fact, there is the Salman Khan factor in it.

Well, now let’s come back to Dabangg. As a matter of fact, Salman Khan is taking special interest in the scripting of the sequel of Dabangg. It is learnt that Sallu wants to use his ‘formula’ in all his films now. However, Salman has refused the reports that he is anyhow involved in scripting the sequel.

He admitted that the script has been written by Arbaaz Khan and he has nothing to do with it, and neither will he be involved in penning anything in the future.

Arbaaz Khan clears the air about Sohail Khan’s role in Dabangg 2

Producer Arbaaz Khan has made it very clear that his brother, Sohail Khan will not be a part of Dabangg 2 as are the news currently making the rounds. The news of Sohail Khan’s inclusion in their home production got hotter when the reports spoke of him expression his willingness to work in the film.

So, this is what Arbaaz Khan had to say about Sohail which he posted on his Twitter page: “Dabangg’ sequel starts mid next year and doesn’t have my brother Sohail acting in it like some newspapers reported”. This should now put an end to all the speculations being made about the Sohail’s inclusion in the film.

However, Arbaaz is set to become a director with this film. As there are some differences with the original director of Dabangg, Abhinav Kashyap, the actor and producer may most likely turn a director too.

There is around one full year until the shooting of Dabangg 2 starts. It has already been declared that Sonakshi Sinah will also be a part of the sequel.
