Salim Khan may have worked with Amitabh Bachchan with a mega
blockbuster like Sholay. However, there was a time when things weren’t cool
between the two of them. If the book Yahi Rang Yahi Roop, written by Anita
Padhye is to be believed, there is one reason that dates back to 1987.
Javed Akhtar and Salim Khan were scripting the film Mr. India
and wanted Big B to play the role that was ultimately donned by Anil Kapoor.
However, it is understood that Amitabh refused the role and things went sour
between Salim Khan and Amitabh Bachchan.
It was actually Javed Akhtar who was unhappy with Amitabh’s
decision. But Salim Khan consoled him and asked to leave the issue. But then Javed
Akhtar went to Big B’s house to celebrate Holi. This is when Javed told Amitabh
that it was Salim Khan who didn’t want to work with him.
