In yet another film that is a biopic, Akshay Kumar will don
the character of P C Sorkar. For those who do not know, P C Sorkar is a world
renowned magician from India. His original name was Protul Chandra Sorkar.
The film will be made by Soumik Sen. Soumik Sen’s last
dishing out was Gulaab Gang, for which he also had composed the music featured Madhuri
Dixit and Juhi Chawla in the lead.
This will be the first time that Akshay Kumar will play the
role of a magician. He has done very interesting characters before – from being
an action hero in Baby, to doing comedy in films like Welcome.
The magician from India was at his peak during the 1905s and the
1960s. One of his most famous tricks was that of the floating lady. He did this
trick on a routine basis and had become the identity of the magician.
The date of the film’s release is yet to be finalized and so
isn’t known right now.
