Ek Tha Tiger breaks the opening day box office records

There has been no looking back for Salman khan for some of his last films and Ek Tha Tiger is one of them. It is expected that the film will be the highest ever earner of all time. The film that released on the Independence Day grossed Rs. 32.92 on the first day itself.

The collection that almost touched Rs. 33 crores is the highest for any film in Bollywood to date. The collection done by Ek Tha Tiger was more than one third of the earnings grossed by the film Agneepath that released previously this year. Agneepath earned Rs. 24 crores while the second highest grosser before the release of Ek Tha Tiger was Ra. One by Shah Rukh Khan, which earned Rs. 23 crores.

The previous year, Salman Khan’s another film Bodyguard was released. That also broke records then. That film was also a Eid release and Ek Tha Tiger released only 4-5 days before Eid. As this is a long weekend end due to holidays coming on the trot, many film buffs are likely to queue up to the theaters.

That will give the film more profits in the days to come.

Agneepath earns more than Bodyguard on opening day

There is Agneepath, Agneepath and Agneepath all the way. When we heard that Bodyguard had been the highest grosser on the opening day in the history of the Hindi cinema, we thought that was it. It would take ages before the record is broken. However, it was just a matter of a few months to materialize.

Agneepath has earned more than what Bodyguard had earned on the opening day – an earning of Rs. 23 cr. Salman Khan starrer Bodyguard had earned Rs. 21.6 cr. It was a record in its own way. But Agneepath came strongly to earn slightly more than Rs. 1.6 cr. on the first day.

The film was released on the occasion of India’s Republic Day – Thursday, January 26. That was a good occasion for the people to take a break from the work and redeem themselves with a movie from the stable of Karan Johar.

Katrina Kaif will be Chikni Chameli in the film Agneepath

It seems that Katrina Kaif has decided to do only item numbers. Her next is chikni chameli in Agneepath. This is the remake of the famous bygone film in which the superstar of the millennium Amitabh Bachchan starred. The film will be remade by Karan Johar. The original one was made by his father in the year 1990.

Karan Johar posted a twitter message about the remake and this is how the world came to know about these developments. He wrote that Katrina will be doing an item song in the film Agneepath. The shooting of this particular song will be done in a week’s time. In the original film Archna Puran Singh had danced to the tunes of Alibaba, which was also item number.

The remake of Agneepath will be directed by the new director Karan Malhotra. It is his debut film. Sanjay Dutt is playing role of villain in this film. If all things go well it will be released on 26 January 2012.

Hrithik Roshan starrer Agneepath to be released in January 2012

Karan Johar has announced on his Twitter page that the Hrithik Roshan starrer Agneepath will be released in January 2012. Karan posted, “Agneepath releases on January 13th, 2012”, this is what he said on Twitter. Agneepath is the remake of the 1980 classic with the same name.

Hrithik Roshan will play the role of the iconic Amitabh Bachchan, the famous character of Vijay Deenanath Chauhan. In the female lead, there will be Priyanka Chopra. However, Karan Johar has decided to shelve off the entire character of Mithun Chakraborty.

Sanjay Dutt will be seen in the role of a villain. To prepare himself for the role, he has gone completely bald. Apart from that, he has even gained weight and some muscles. In addition to this, he will be seen with loads of tattoos on his arms. The veteran Rishi Kapoor will also be seen in the negative role.

If you remember a little history of the original Agneepath, it was not a successful film. However, the characterization of Vijay Deenanath Chauhan by Amitabh Bachchan was extremely appreciated. The Big B had even won the Best Actor award for this film.

The original Agneepath of the 1980s was produced by Yash Johar, Karan Johar’s father.

Agneepath and Just Dance keep Hrithik Roshan busy till October

Today, the busiest of Bollywood personalities is none other than Hrithik Roshan. Currently he has on his hands his current film Agneepath for which he is shooting. Apart from that, he is also judging the dance reality show Just Dance. It may not give you a fair idea of how busy Hrithik is unless we tell you the ‘drama’ behind it.

Hrithik is shooting for Agneepath in Diu, in the state of Gujarat. His shooting as the judge of takes place in Just Dance. This means, Hrithik has to bounce back and forth between Diu and Mumbai. To add to the extra work of travelling, there are no connecting flights from Diu to Mumbai.

So, at times, Hrithik has to take chartered flights from the places to travel to the other destination. Agneepath is currently in the stage of the climax shooting. The director of Agneepath, Siddharth Malhotra is visibly not too happy with Duggu travelling between places. This, at times, causes interruptions in the shooting of the climax scenes.

This increases the stress for both Siddharth Malhotra and Hrithik Roshan. The Agneepath team has been in Diu since the beginning of this month and from that time, Hrithik has been flying up and down.

However, Hrithik is confident of seeing both the schedules through.
