Dilip Kumar death rumors: Big B rubbishes reports

In yet another rumor, Twitter was stormed with tweets about the death of former thespian Dilip Kumar. However, the air was promptly cleared by none other than Amitabh Bachchan himself and that too through Twitter.

Writing off the condolence messages to Dilip Kumar, Big B said that there were false rumors about the veteran actor’s death. He even added that, Sairaji – Saira Banu, Dilip Kumar’s wife had informed him of his well being.

Just a few days back, Muhammad Yusuf Khan, Dilip Kumar’s birth name, was seen at the wedding of Arpita Khan. He looked fit and fine there. However, finally on Monday, after a prolonged illness, the senior actor breathed his last at the Lilavati Hospital, of course, according to the rumors.

This is not the first time that anyone has played a prank on Dilip Kumar and that too such a serious one. In September 2011, there was a similar rumor that spoke of the actor’s death. Then it was his wife, Saira Banu, who had come up with a public statement refuting the reports.

Amitabh Bachchan to be honored at Melbourne International Film Festival

There is yet another honor in store for Amitabh Bachchan who will be honored at the Melbourne International Film Festival. Amitabh Bachchan is presently shooting for his next film Satyagraph by Prakash Jha. There will also be a retrospective of the actor.

He will immediately return to India as he is busy shooting. The shooting will go on probably until the end of April. After that Big B will be traveling to the US, to New York. There he will be with The Great Gatsby. There will be the premier on May 1.

The 70-year old Amitabh Bachchan posted all this on his blog. 

Karan Johar and Alia Bhatt promote Student of the Year

The promotion of the film Student of the Year is truly on the high scale as producer and director Karan Johar along with Alia Bhatt were the guests on the reality show Kaun Benega Crorepati. The other two prominent faces in the film Siddharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan were also present on the show hosted by Amitabh Bachchan.

Alia Bhatt is the daughter of Mahesh Bhatt. Siddharth Malhotra is a successful model and Varun Dhawan is the son of the famous director David Dhawan. It is the first film for all the three youngsters.

Rishi Kapoor, Kayoze Irani and Sanjay Dutt are the other prominent actors in the film. The foursome played for a charity during the show. The moments got nostalgic as Big B narrated some funny incidents during his school days. Jokes were cracked and around 40 to 45 minutes of lighthearted presentation passed off in a jiffy.

Karan Johar and Alia Bhatt played the first part as the guest contestants and Siddharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan played till the end of the programme for the day.

Did Sridevi indeed refuse to work with Amitabh Bachchan

Working with Amitabh Bachchan is a dream for any actor. However, Sridevi proves to be the exception. If the yesteryear reports are to be believed, then it should be mentioned that the actress was not willing to work with Big B. But what was the reason for Sridevi not working with AB?

It was in the 1980s when Sridevi was on top of the world (Bollywood world) with film like Chandni, Nagina, Lamha and Chalbaaz under her belt. There was no doubt that Sridevi wanted to do films that kept her in the focus all the time. It simply means that the films should be women-centric.

If she were to do films with AB that would mean the script would be written keeping the Big B in mind. That would potentially keep Sri out of the picture. However, it should be noted that Amitabh Bachchan did a cameo appearance in Sridevi’s comeback film.

It is yet another special moment not only for Amitabh Bachchan, but also his fans. The Big B has turned 70 today. It has been a special journey for Amitabh Bachchan in Bollywood; oops he doesn’t like the Hindi film industry to be addressed as Bollywood. He has always remained out of any controversies and has always been a driving force for the young generation.

Even at the age of 70 years, he has been working actively. The struggling days are long gone by and today, Amitabh Bachchan’s family is known as the first family of Bollywood. He continues to inspire the budding actors and has always been a fatherly figure to many of his co-stars who are his sons’ age. Taking his career into account, there is no exaggeration for him to be called the Superstar of the Millennium.

The entire Hindi film industry wished Mr. Bachchan on his birthday, not to mention his millions of billions of fans all over the world. Amitabh Bachchan is no less than a phenomenon which happens once in a blue moon.

Salman Khan becomes the highest paid host on TV

With the next season of Bigg Boss just round the corner, Salman Khan can boast of being the highest paid actor on the small screen. It is estimated that Salman will be pocketing as much as Rs. 3.8 to Rs. 4 crores per episode for the show. Though he was sharing the space with Sanjay Dutt in the last season, still Salman was paid around Rs. 3 crores per episode.

However, after his success with Ek Tha Tiger and the immense popularity of his films, there is hardly any doubt that his value is on the rise. Salman Khan is the only actor from Bollywood who has delivered more than three hits at the box office garnering more than Rs. 100 crores in each film.

Hrithik Roshan, Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar are some of the other names in the Bollywood who are pocketing huge sums of money for hosting various shows for each episode. How can the list be complete without the mention of Amitabh Bachchan and Kaun Banega Crorepati?

As a matter of fact, the league of Amitabh Bachchan is a bit different as he has signed a contract for Rs. 100 crores for as many as three seasons.

In her latest song from the film Aiyyaa, Rani Mukharjee has seemingly taken a dig at none other than the superstar of the millennium – Amitabh Bachchan and his on-screen partner Rekha. The thoughts have been expressed through a song. It very rarely happens that anyone from the film industry makes (negative) comments about the Big B.

The dig has been taken in the song savaa dollar. One of the stanzas of the song is said to have been prominently talked about in the entire industry today. It is the song – a laavani, in which Rani dances to the song choreographed by Vaibhavi. There have been digs at the clichés at Bollywood as well.

It is being said that the Bengali beauty was not invited to the wedding of Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan and this song is the result of this. Relationship between these two families was fine, but the differences started to surface when Rani was not included in the list of the guests.

There has been no word from Amitabh on these developments yet. No doubt, Big B is a mature man and it remains to be seen how he reacts to this situation.

No sexual harassment against Sayali Bhagat

There were reports doing the rounds that Sayali Bhagat – the former Miss India had accused Sajid Khan, Amitabh Bachchan and Arya Babbar. It was really a shock for the film industry as it included the name of Amitabh Bachchan. There were some serious allegations, which looked were made by Sayali, including that of Shiney Ahuja.

They are – Sajid Khan had stripped in front of the beauty queen, while Amitabh Bachchan had taken hold of her butts as she had bent down to touch his feet. As far as Arya Babbar is concerned, he had sent MMS to Sayali of his private parts, which was certainly not with good intentions.

However, the truth is that these reports were entirely fake and were sent out by Sayali’s publicist Anant Narayan. These were some grave allegations and had no truth in it. Even the starlet was taken aback when she came to know about this and had also informed the police about the same. After this, Anant Narayan was arrested by the police from Haryana.

But now, according to a court order, Anant Narayan has given a written apology to Sayali Bhagat.

Katrina Kaif is excited to work in the sequel of Rajneeti

The political movie Rajneeti in 2010, gave Katrina Kaif loads of accolades for her role in the film. She was critically acclaimed for the character she played. No doubt, she is looking forward to the sequel of the film now. Katrina is ready to work with director Prakash Jha once again.

Katrina says that she had a look at the script of the sequel and feels it is an outstanding work of creativity. The script is what it is after years of hard work. The thing that Katrina points out is that the characters getting omitted in the first part.

Though Prakash Jha is engaged with another film with Amitabh Bachchan, Katrina is in talks with the director at the same time. Both have had some discussions and looks like things are going to fall in place soon. The actress however says that he has told her the story of the film but not the complete script yet.

Amitabh Bachchan ready to work with Rekha

Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha is one of the most popular pairs on-screen. They have dished out many hit films when they were working as a couple during their peak days. However, due to circumstances well-known to all of us, they parted ways and have never come back on the screen since then.

But as far as the Big B is concerned, he does not mind getting back with the lady with whom there were lots of hit films. The Big B said that if there is a nice story like the one they had got in their earlier films, he would like to do a film with Rekha once again.

When we speak of the pair of Amitabh and Rekha, the first film that comes to mind is Silsila. Mr Narwarlal and Muqaddar Ka Sikandar are some more films that the two have done. There has been no statement from Rekha as yet. But it is expected that the lady should speak her mind when it is the Big B who himself is speaking about her.

It was certainly surprising to know that Ram Gopal Varma gifted Nathalia Kaur the same costume that she had worn for the item song in the film. It is not very common for RGV to gift his stars with gifts, the way he did with Nathalia Kaur. Actually it was Nathalia who showed a liking for the outfit.

She said that she liked the costume a lot and Ramu Sir allowed me to keep it. The costume was worn for the item song Dan Dan. It was not only Nathalia liking the dress. But as a matter of fact, Ram Gopal Varma was impressed the way Nathalia made her moves in the song. RGV offered the lady to keep the dress.

The dress in red and silver had been designed by Leepakshi Ellawadi. Leepakshi Ellawadi had done the styling for the Big B in the film Bbuddah Hoga Tera Baap. It was learnt that RGV wanted to show the sexy half Indian-half Brazilian lady with as much of her assets and curves as possible.

Vidya Balan can do without Khans too

Vidya Balan is no doubt the current top actress of Bollywood and so are the three Khans. It is very natural for someone to act alongside the actor or actress who is having a dream run. No doubt, people want to see any of the three Khans – Aamir, Salman or Shah Rukh to work opposite Vidya – just the way Amitabh Bachchan and Govinda did in Chote Miyan Bade Miyan.

Vidya has had runaway success with her films for the past couple of years now. It all started with Paa in 2009 where she starred opposite the mega star Amitabh Bachchan. Ishqiya followed the next year, where she worked opposite Nasseruddin Shah.

The last year, Vidya Balan delivered two hits – No One Killed Jessica along with Rani Mukharjee and The Dirty Picture. Kahaani is the latest hit delivered by Vidya Balan.

Even after this success and the stature the Khans carry, Vidya is firm on her decision to work with either of the Khans only if the film meets her priorities.

New mother Aishwarya Rai leaves for home

After becoming mother for the first time in her life, Aishwarya Rai finally left the Seven Hills hospital. She headed straight home from the hospital. Aishwarya’s discharge came on late Tuesday (today – Tuesday, November 22) afternoon. Both the Baby B and the new mother are doing fine.

While moving out of the hospital the Big B was seen with the Baby B in his arms. Certainly what greater care could the baby get in the arms of the most elder man in the house? However, there could not be any snaps of the baby as it has been strictly opposed by Amitabh himself.

In the meantime, morphed pictures of both Aishwarya and more importantly her baby have been on the net for considerable time now. This has certainly not gone well with the Bachchan family who is trying it hard to shield the baby from the media glare.

However, the original image has been traced out by the extended family of the Big B. He has thanked for taking the efforts of doing the same.

Aishwarya Rai gives birth to a baby girl

Aishwarya and Abhishek Bachchan became the latest parents in the world after Aishwarya Rai gave birth to a baby girl. The news was broken by the first time father Abhishek himself. He tweeted “IT’S A GIRL!!!!!! :-)))))...”. How could the Big B be a silent spectator? He too tweeted “I AM DADA to the cutest baby girl, A dada ji ... Ecstatic.”

Aishwarya had checked in the Seven Hills Hospital as the time for the birth was nearing fast. She is being looked after by Dr Vinita Salvi, who is the head of the obstetrics and gynecology at the hospital in Andheri. Aishwarya has been in the VVIP suite of the Seven Hills hospital. The suite consists of a kitchen, a toilet along with a living room.

There was a lot of buzz about the expectant mother for the past couple of weeks. It kept growing as the days of the birth neared. There was even hard betting for the 11.11.11 date as the birth of the new baby that amounted to a whopping amount of Rs. 150 crores.

Katrina Kaif will be Chikni Chameli in the film Agneepath

It seems that Katrina Kaif has decided to do only item numbers. Her next is chikni chameli in Agneepath. This is the remake of the famous bygone film in which the superstar of the millennium Amitabh Bachchan starred. The film will be remade by Karan Johar. The original one was made by his father in the year 1990.

Karan Johar posted a twitter message about the remake and this is how the world came to know about these developments. He wrote that Katrina will be doing an item song in the film Agneepath. The shooting of this particular song will be done in a week’s time. In the original film Archna Puran Singh had danced to the tunes of Alibaba, which was also item number.

The remake of Agneepath will be directed by the new director Karan Malhotra. It is his debut film. Sanjay Dutt is playing role of villain in this film. If all things go well it will be released on 26 January 2012.

Shah Rukh Khan’s Don 2 in copyright trouble

Shah Rukh Khan’s troubles aren’t over yet. After facing the quiz by ED a few days back, SRK starrer, Don 2 is in trouble now. It is the copyright infringement, according to the original makers of Don. On that term, the production house has been sent legal notice.

Don 2 is the sequel of the Amitabh Bachchan hit film Don. SRK is main male lead role in Don 2. However, as far as the sequel goes, Nariman films, the production house of Don, is not pleased with the way the sequel has been handled. But what is the reason for Nariman films to send a notice to the sequel directed by Farhan Akhtar?

Nariman films said that they had given only the rights to remake the film to Excel Entertainment. Nariman films points out that they had not given the permission to remake the film as a sequel. That’s where the violation of copyright is, the original Don producers think.

Iva Bansal and Digvijay Chopra, the two advocates appointed by Nariman films said that they will take legal action against producers of Don 2 at that High Court and criminal courts as well for relief. On the other side Ritesh Sidhwani of the Excel Entertainment said that whatever they were doing was legal and charges of Nariman Films are false and baseless.

Don 2 may be released on Christmas.

Amitabh Bachchan denies rumors of refusing Aishwarya's pregnancy

Amitabh Bachchan has himself come forward to deny news that said the Bachchans were not allowing the media to carry the news of Aishwarya's pregnancy. Big B said that who was he to order the I & B to stop the media from covering the news? Amitabh Bachchan also clarified his stand through his blog.

In the blog he posted that there was a message in the print version saying that it was the Big B who had asked the OB vans not to be anywhere in the vicinity either of the hospital or his residence. However, the Big B condemned it all by saying that it was all nonsense.

This is not the first time that there has been a ‘close watch’ by the media over the Bachchan family. First it was Aishwarya and Abhishek’s marriage. Then there was Aishwarya’s baby shower followed by the Karva Chauth. It seems the media is stationed outside Pratiksha.

Sayali Bhagat accuses Amitabh Bachchan and Sajid Khan of sexual harassment

As if the Shiney Ahuja episode was not enough for Sayali Bhagat that now she has accused Amitabh Bachchan and Sajid Khan for sexual harassment. It is quite shocking to hear the name of Big B associated with such an act, though it seems that it does not hold any truth at face value.

If it is sexual harassment that Sayali is talking about, then a question arises, if Sayali is so hot that everyone wants to sleep with her? Seems like after accusing Shiney Ahuja the actress has started to accuse all the males of the film industry who come in contact with her due to professional reasons.

Sayali Bhagat said that she wanted to lift the curtains of the characters of the film industry, especially the males before leaving the industry once and for all. She accused that she was suffering sexual harassment for seven long years from not only young and senior actors but also from directors.

Sayali Bhagat accused the veteran star and the superstar of the millennium, Big B himself. She said that at the lunch of premier of Tinu Verma’s film she met the super star. Sayali said that when she bent to touch his feet he put his hand on my butts.

She further said that Amitabh Bachchan was like her grandfather. She even said that she felt slapping him then and there itself. She also said that she remained silent for her self-respect and respect for Amitabh Bachchan.

Filmmaker Sajid Khan demands sex

Sayali said that when Sajid was casting for his film Housefull he called her at his office. She said that she knew very well about casting couch existing in the entertainment industry. However she was shocked to see Sajid strip in front of her and demanded to have sex with her. The starlet was annoyed and left Sajid’s office. I decided not to work with this director at any cost, she confirmed.

Accusing Aarya Babbar too

Aarya Babbar and Sayali Bhagat were a part of a film Choro Ki Barat. Sayali accused Aayra of sending MMS of the private parts. There was no doubt that he was trying to tempt me to have sex, she said. It has been a storm of accusations by the young frustrated lady.

Sayali Bhagat now plans to go to Milan to peruse a full time modeling career.

Shah Rukh Khan will not visit Bigg Boss for Ra.One promo

Currently Shah Rukh Khan is busy promoting his film Ra.One. However, he will not be a guest on the reality show Bigg Boss. He will not be there for reasons best known only to him and probably many others. As a matter of fact, Shah Rukh Khan is currently busy visiting many reality shows to promote his film.

However, the refusal to be a guest on Bigg Boss has more to do with the presence of Salman Khan. Actually, SRK said that he would be touring the city during the time when he was expected to visit Bigg Boss. The lack of time is the common answer that has come to the fore again.

Shah Rukh Khan has already been a guest on India’s Got Talent, L’ll Champs and Just Dance. SRK said that there are all the people associated with these shows who are his friends and so he could not help but go there. He said that he went to IGT because he is good friends with Kirron Kher. He further said that he visited JD just because Hrithik Roshan is his friend and had invited him.

But Mr. King Khan, isn’t Sanjay Dutt your good friend? Then why did you not choose to go there? However, SRK will be on the show Kaun Banega Crorepati. It seems SRK preferred Amitabh Bachchan over Salman Khan.

After Amitabh Bachchan Abhishek Bachchan hurt again

Abhishek Bachchan has again been injured. Some days ago we had reported to you about Amitabh Bachchan getting himself hurt during the shooting of the film Department. But the Jr. Bachchan is at the receiving end again. However, the unfortunate incident did not take place either on the sets or during the shooting.

The crew members of the film Bol Bachchan were playing cricket when Abhishek got hurt. The ball zoomed towards Abhishek. As he tried to avoid the ball, it hit him on his hand. As a matter of fact, Abhishek Bachchan got a hairline fracture in the ring finger of his left hand.

Abhishek then tweeted on the social site Twitter, “...I fractured my finger. It’s what I would like to call a sympathy wound”. As we have told you before, even Amitabh Bachchan is not well. He got hurt in the chest while shooting for Department. He awarded himself a hairline fracture in the ribs.

However, the mega star had the guts to have a lighthearted tweet on Twitter. “My hairline fracture on rib has a companion - Mr Abhishek Bachchan. He has had a hairline fracture on his finger on shoot in Jaipur for Bol Bachchan”, this is what he said.
