The remake of Zanjeer to deal with oil mafia issue

The remake of the 1973 film Zanjeer will be dealing with the oil mafia issue that has been prevalent in India for quite some time now. The film is directed by Apoorva Lakhia, who has dealt with some tough issues in his previous films as well.
Shootout At Lokhandwala and Ek Ajnabee are a couple of other films by the director that can certainly be termed as hard hitting topics. The remake will be a contemporary adaption of the original classic made almost 40 years ago.
Speaking about the film, the director said that they were looking to make the film as realistic as possible. When he was thinking of a topic for the film, the news of Sonavane killing was doing the rounds in the media. Even the oil mafia was constantly in the news then. This is how the foundation of the film got ready.

The film will see the debut of Ram Charan, the Telugu superstar. The debut of Ram Charan has been in the news for quite a while now. And with the remake of Zanjeer, it will soon materialize.
