Dabangg bags six awards at the IIFA in Toronto





It was a field day for the film Dabangg, as it bagged as many as six awards at the 12th International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) in Toronto. Here is the list of awards Dabangg received. The first award was of course, for the best screenplay. The second award was for the best playback singer (female), while the third one was for the best playback singer (male).
Dabangg also got the award for the best music director. The fifth award went to Sonu Sood for his best performance in a negative role and Sonakshi Sinha won the best female actor award (debut). All in all, it were the awards on a highly expected line, which almost went according to the script.
The best actor award went to Shah Rukh Khan for his role in the film My Name is Khan. Anushka Sharma won the best actress award for the film Band Baaja Baaraat.
The best supporting actor (male) award went to Arjun Rampal for his role in the political thriller Raajneeti. The best supporting actor (female) went to Prachi Desai for her characterization in the film Once Upon a Time in Mumbai.
